Heritage Christian Academy’s intent is to provide a private school option that emphasizes areas of academics in which the country, in general, has lagged. This emphasis in math, science and foreign language is integrated with spiritual truths that are found through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The prayer, goal and vision of Heritage Christian Academy is to prepare men and women who will carry throughout their lives the banner of Christ because of a personal relationship with Jesus, a knowledge of His Word, a Christian world view and a vision of how God can use them to change the lives of others.

We strive to equip them academically, socially, and emotionally to articulate and defend their faith and become servants and leaders in their chosen vocations.

We believe that the primary responsibility to prepare our children to carry Christ’s banner is the parent thus, while students are at school, the staff of HCA will be working as an extension of the family.

Heritage Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its education policies, admission policy, and other school-administered programs.

Our school operates at our Main Campus located at Webter Baptist Church (Sylva, NC).  In addition, we operate our Pre-School at Alliance Bible Church.

Whether you are a current student or a parent looking for a school for your child, we hope that you will find this site to be a useful source of information about all aspects of life at Heritage Christian Academy.

The following is the foundation of beliefs on which Heritage Christian Academy is based.

These beliefs are also the key elements of Christianity that will be unapologetically taught in various ways through all grade levels. The substance of these statements is that which will be considered primary doctrine at Heritage Christian Academy. Secondary or divisive doctrines and denominational issues will not be presented as the primary doctrine. When these arise they will be referred back to the family and local churches for final authority.

Each member of the School Board, and each employee of the Corporation, having accepted and received Jesus Christ as personal Savior, shall subscribe annually in writing to the following Statement of Faith:

We believe that the Bible is God’s Holy Word. Every word of the Old and New Testament is the verbally inspired Word of God. It is inerrant, infallible, and has been perfectly preserved according to the promise in Psalm 12:6-7. It is indeed the final authority of all matters of faith and practice.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by his Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone.

We believe that faith without works is dead.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose in dwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved to the resurrection of life and they are lost to the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believes in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Heritage Christian Academy is an educational institution whose dedication to Christian values, sound Biblical teaching, and high educational standards has been changing the lives of our students for over a decade. Originally founded as Rogers Academy the school was reorganized with a supervising Board of Directors in 2008, the newly formed school was formally named Heritage Christian Academy.

The vision of HCA’s founders was to establish a nondenominational Christian school to instruct students in grades kindergarten through eighth. In the beginning HCA served its student population with campuses at; the Alliance Bible Church and First United Methodist of Sylva. As our student population grew so did HCA’s need for campus space, in 2013 all grades K-8 were moved to the current campus at Webster Baptist Church and the location at Alliance Bible Church was renovated to allow room for our full-day pre-school program.

Today HCA has grown to incorporate its own high school and is serving a record number of students at both the Main campus and the Pre-school, with God’s blessing and guidance HCA will enjoy even more wonderful years to come.
